About Me - brutal honesty time

Ok, I had this in the AboutMe section, but I was told it was too long, so decided to move it to a blog post...

So, Im a recovered (some say always recovering) addict/alcoholic, but have been clean/sober for over yrs now. I was more into drugs (grass, coke, acid, etc, but never used a needle thank Odin) than alcohol, but guzzled the booze out of control too on occasion.

I never had a weight problem growing up - until I got clean. I then slowly developed a fairly serious weight problem over the next few yrs, and Ive been struggling with it ever since. Id lose it - then gain it back plus some, wash, rinse repeat. It was exhausting - until about months ago, when I discovered the missing piece of the puzzle and why Ive been unsuccessful and pretty much wasting my time. I stumbled on the term Intermittent Fasting, and after a bit of searching, bought an e-book Dr. Jason Fung called The Obesity Code - and voila, learned the secret - Insulin Resistance!

So, around the third week of January at around 260lbs, I started Intermittent Fasting and eating a modified Keto diet. Fast forward months, and I broke 5lbs for the first time in the last yrs (havent been below 200 in probably 23 or so).

This time I decided to confirm the theory and lose the weight without doing any exercise, and that is exactly what happened. I havent done a lick of exercise this whole time.

So, Ive yet to restart my simple HIIT routine, just too busy at work, but still planning to. Once Ive regained some flexibility and strength, Ill be adding some more strength training routines - all short and HIIT centered (as I said, Im not into exercise, but love the of quality HIIT and strength training provides. Would love to hook-up with a workout fwb... someone like me, not radical about it, just interested in staying fit and healthy with the least of work.

Bottom line, Im still a bit self-conscious about the tiny remnant of a gut Ive still got. It is almost gone, but probably won't go away until I start my core routine..
